NKJV Study Bible - Full Color Edition Review - BookLook Bloggers Review

New King James Version Study Bible
2nd Edition, Full Color Edition
Thomas Nelson Publishers

Lately I've gotten a number of books to read and review.  One of these is the NKJV Study Bible, the full color edition.  Along with familiar Old and New Testament Biblical text, this Bible contains numerous cross-references, annotations, book introductions and outlines, time lines, articles, Bible Times and Culture Notes, word studies, maps, teachings and illustrations of Christ, prophecies of the Messiah fulfilled in Jesus Christ, center column notes, a subject index, a concordance and much more.  There are also color pictures and highlighting to emphasize significant sections and information.  There is even an attached ribbon bookmark to save your place for your next reading.

I received a complimentary copy of this Bible from the BookLook Bloggers Program, in the hope that I would write an honest review of it.  I'm not obligated to provide a positive review, but I did like this one.  I didn't and won't receive further compensation, but keep reading to find out why I think you might want to check out this option if you're doing some serious studying of the Bible.  By the way, the opinions and comments shared are my own.  (Just a little FTC notice.)

So what did I think of this one?  Well, since I have a number of versions and varieties of Bibles, I was really excited to check out the extra features in this one.  I love having the center notes, annotations and concordance all in the same book.  It's wonderful to understand more of what I'm reading and compare and contrast other references.  This Bible is easy to read, and makes the content quite understandable.  It's been interesting to get a bit more the background of the sections I'm reading.   I'm a book nerd at heart, and the wealth of information in this study Bible makes me smile!  The only downside to this Bible was the weight. (I've heard of Bible thumpers, and thumping with this one would definitely be felt.)  That said, it's not unreasonably heavy for the content and hard cover.  The font even works fine for these aging eyes--a plus!  If you're looking for a good study Bible this is definitely one to consider.
